Like part 1, this one is pretty pic heavy. This will contain mainly cars and a couple oddities. Enjoy!
There’s a bridge that goes over the race track and you can get to it from the back of the museum. The Porsche driving school was going on, so I got some pictures of them. The bridge has a window where you can look down on the track, which is pretty awesome. Took me several tries to get one of a car going under it, but it was worth it.
This place was absolutely amazing and would highly recommend it if you are in the Birmingham, AL area. I definitely plan to go back.

when ever I ever see photos of car museums I can’t help but to wonder if real, or super elaborate diorama some one made and posted macro photos of to mess with me...

The last time I was there, they’d just gotten that 918 in. First one I saw, and within days of seeing my first P1 (VP4 at that). Still have yet to see a LaF though.

It’s definitely worth it. There’s just so much stuff there and the pictures don’t do it justice. Even the layout of the building is impressive. If ya ever come back I would definitely say give that place a few hours of your time.

Yeah that was my first time seeing one. It’s a shame ya can’t go down there without being in some special group or something, but at least I was able to get some decent pictures from the walkway.

That whole section was just the business.

but isn’t that just what some one who made an elaborate diorama would want me to believe?!

Yeah :/ such a cool layout though. I’ve been down there before one time when it was open to the public during some sort of on-track event but they didn’t have anything too crazy down there then.

Yeah it really is. The layout of the whole inside is just awesome and unlike anything i have ever seen.

That’s pure awesomeness! The degree to which it is filled reminds me of the Schlumpf collection in France (though that focuses on Bugattis and automotive curiousities)

The crazy thing is that it was purpose-built, not a repurposed something-or-other, at least to my knowledge.

I grew up two hours from this, and 1.5 hours from the Lane. I feel dumb for going to neither when I lived there. That said, I’ve been to the Lane twice so far. I need to go to Barber.

Definitely go to Barber if you ever get the chance. Even if you aren’t a huge bike fan, it’s still worth it and costs less than $20 for admission as long as you go when there isn’t a big event going on.
